APF 'The Imagination Machine' (1979)
The APF Imagination Machine is a combination video game console and home computer system released by APF Electronics Inc. in late 1979. It has two separate components: the APF-M1000 game system and an add-on docking bay with a full-sized typewriter keyboard and tape drive.
The APF-M1000 was built specifically to compete with the Atari 2600. The full APF Imagination Machine, including the APF-M1000 console and the IM-1 computer component, originally sold for around US$599 (equivalent to $2,600 in 2024).
History During the conception of the MP1000, APF management heard that both Atari and Mattel were planning a computer add-on for their upcoming console.  Around that time, Irving Boilen, APF’s head of engineering led the design of the PeCos One, the first personal computer made by APF. Short for Personal Computer One, the computer used the JOSS Language (an acronym for JOHNNIAC Open Shop System) instead of the popular BASIC language. Although this choice was not well received by the consumers and the PeCos One was quickly discontinued, this gave the necessary expertise to APF to go forward with another project: the Imagination Machine. Thinking that if they could be Atari to punch, they could get a bigger part of the cake, APF worked tirelessly on their new venture.

Boxing is a sports video game developed and published by APF Electronics Inc. in 1978 for the APF-MP1000 console. As one of just 13 official cartridges released for the system, it set out to simulate the sport of boxing within the technical limits of the time.
The APF-MP1000, also known as the APF-M1000, was a second-generation 8-bit cartridge-based home video game console released the same year. Powered by a Motorola 6800 CPU and just 1 KB of RAM, it rendered graphics at a resolution of 256×192 pixels using a palette of 8 colors. The console was part of the APF Imagination Machine, which combined gaming with a home computer setup.
The game itself keeps things simple, with basic graphics and gameplay mechanics typical of early sports games. You control a boxer in a match, focusing on movement and straightforward punch actions. The opponent AI doesn’t put up much of a challenge—it’s easy to figure out its pattern, turning matches into a rhythm of blocking and punching. Still, playing this game never fails to put a smile on my face. There’s something undeniably nostalgic about it, and the two stylized boxers have a charm that’s oddly endearing.

It seems more and more lately, me and my beloved's AR15's are balancing modern and retro design assets, and @bureau-of-mines's "National Match"-Style AR is no exception -
Unbranded PSA Flat Top Upper/BCG/Charging Handle
Intlmilco "Commercial"/BHD M16A2 Lower
Brownell's 20" A2 Barrel with XM177-Style Faux Moderator and Grenade Ring
APF Armory Low-Profile Gas Block
Harris S-25C Bipod with No.4 Barrel Mount Adapter & KMW Pod-Loc
Doublestar Aluminum Free-Float Tube Handguard
Choate E-2 Stock with M16A2 Trapdoor Buttplate
Magpul MOE-K Grip
Colt 20rnd Magazine
A.R.M.S. #5 Multibase Mount (Riser)
Leupold Mark 4 3.5-10x40mm LR/T with Nightforce A107 30mm Scope Rings
This was another tricky one to work on, as the lower was part of a blemished batch and it was very difficult getting a grip and spring detent combination that worked with it. The Magpul MOE-K that I recently picked up ended resolving this problem - the safety selector is now nice and snappy and the angles go aesthetically well with the Choate E-2 Stock.
The Leupold 3.5-10x40mm LR/T was donated off of my Mod H that I've been increasingly bored with (such is the case for SPR builds), and it will likely remain on this rifle at least until we get an AR-10.
I can't reasonably think of much more that either of us want to add to this build, short of perhaps a sling or a shorter bipod. The touch of bronze against the matte blacks, greys, and subtle purples really sells this build for me.

Summary of Antibacterial acne removal products
The formula I have always advocated for acne treatment is "applying ingredients that regulate the keratinization of hair follicle sebaceous gland ducts over a large area in areas prone to acne and pimples (even the entire face) + applying ingredients that inhibit and kill Propionibacterium acnes locally in the acne area". In short, it is "extensive unblocking + local antibacterial".
The components for large-scale unblocking include retinoids, azelaic acid and salicylic acid. This article summarizes the products used for local antibacterial purposes.
Duac/Clindoxyl gel
The compound preparation containing 5% benzoyl peroxide and 1% clindamycin, two first-line antibacterial agents for acne, is more effective for inflammatory acne than 5% benzoyl peroxide. Moreover, in combination with benzoyl peroxide, it can also prevent the occurrence of clindamycin antibiotic resistance. It works very well for inflammatory acne, but it's not easy to buy.
2. Bansai Gel
Compared with Duac/Clinoxyl gel, without the addition of 1% clindamycin, it only contains 5% benzoyl peroxide, which inhibits and kills Propionibacterium acnes by releasing nascent oxygen. It is also a very classic acne-removing product. If you are not tolerant, you can choose short-term contact or peroxybenzoyl lotion.
3. La Roche-Posay DUO+M Lotion
The North American version of DUO Milk contains 5.5% benzoyl peroxide (which has now been recalled and an optimized formula version will be launched), while the non-North American version of DUO+M milk simulates the antibacterial ability of benzoyl peroxide through OCT pyrroxone ethanol ammonium salt + ACNESIUM pomegranate peel extract. It is compounded with the fermentation product APF of the prebiotic mannose and the probiotic Tremella hyacinosa to balance the skin microecology, and 0.8% compound salicylic acid to simulate the keratolytic ability of benzoyl peroxide. Clinical verification has been conducted in comparison with 5% benzoyl peroxide. The effect is no less than that of 5% benzoyl peroxide and it has a very fast acne removal speed. It can be used as a mild alternative to 5% benzoyl peroxide, but it still has a certain degree of irritation.
4. Beast Code Yunneng Acne Essence "Moonlight Essence"
The official claim is to "solve acne during women's menstrual periods", but when the formula is revealed, it is essentially to remove acne through antibacterial ingredients, which is also the classic trick of acid-free acne removal products. Containing the classic antibacterial agent Betapur Bordeaux leaf extract + PIONIN (Piaonin) quaternary ammonium salt -73 And the new antibacterial agent Dendriclear polylysine + ACNESIUM pomegranate peel extract (the same as Lifuquan DUO+M Lotion) is used to precisely inhibit the proliferation of the pathogenic type lA1 of Propionibacterium acnes and the formation of its biofilm. It has almost no irritation and can be tried by any skin type and condition. There are no restrictions on its combination with other acne-removing ingredients, and the acne-removing effect is equally excellent.

Corporate Cards Procurement Intelligence: A Comprehensive Guide
The corporate cards category is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.3% from 2023 to 2030. There is a high degree of acceptance of corporate cards by merchants in developing countries. The rise in merchant acceptance is driven by the convenience of accepting payments through widely used network providers like Visa, MasterCard, Amex, etc. Additional factors driving industry growth include the switch to non-cash payments for better payment visibility, management, and working capital optimization as well as the development of flexible laws to reduce interchange costs. The European region accounts for the largest category share due to rising business trip costs and a growing preference for digital payment methods among businesses in this region.
This category has undergone some significant technological innovation phases that have facilitated the quick adoption of cutting-edge technologies like blockchain, AI, and fully automated systems. These technologies are transforming the payment space's structure and typical platform architectures.
• For instance, BitPesa, a Kenya-based startup utilized distributed ledger settlement in 2021, which enabled users to send and receive low-cost, nearly instantaneous payments even without a bank account or registered wallet. The company leveraged Blockchain, which allowed high transaction-per-second throughput and faster settlement than their current card-based systems. The technology is distributed; consensus-based, real-time transaction verification makes it very difficult to fraudulently utilize systems.
• In order to generate a distinctive biometric signature, Amazon Go launched a contactless identity service linking consumers' credit cards with palm prints in 2020. When paying in a store, customers could do so by simply placing their palm over an Amazon One device.
When IoT technologies and blockchain are combined, they will serve as decentralized credit card processing platforms. This combination has reduced the value of plastic cards, which encouraged the use of customer's digital IDs being a crucial part of payment execution.
Charges associated with this category are payment-processing fees, assessment fees, and interchange fees. Payment processing fees are the costs imposed on merchants for handling client credit cards and online payments. The preferred pricing model of the payment processor as well as the transaction’s level of risk determine the amount of payment processing fees. Assessment fees are frequently calculated as a percentage of the overall volume of transactions in a specified period. Interchange fees depend on the type of credit or debit card used, the card brand, the areas or jurisdictions, and the transaction type (online, in-person, etc.). The interchange fee assists in reducing the risk of fraud and handling expenses for the card issuer. For instance, a consumer makes a USD 100 purchase with a credit card. For that USD 100 item, the merchant would get approximately USD 97.81. The remaining USD 2.19 is divided up in the following way: USD 1.75 goes to the issuing bank (defined as an interchange fee), USD 0.14 goes to the card network processor (defined as an assessments fee), and USD 0.30 goes to a payment processor (defined as payment processing fee).
Order your copy of the Corporate Cards Procurement Intelligence Report, 2023 - 2030, published by Grand View Research, to get more details regarding day one, quick wins, portfolio analysis, key negotiation strategies of key suppliers, and low-cost/best-cost sourcing analysis
Other charges involved are acquirer processing fee (APF), fixed acquirer network fee (FANF), kilobyte access (KB) fee, network access and brand usage (NABU) fee, and negotiable fees (which consist of account fees, address verification system (AVS) fee, batch fee, chargeback fee, contract cancellation fee, hosting fee, IRS (internal revenue service) reporting fee, marked-up discount rate, minimum monthly processing fee, monthly fee, payment gateway fee, PCI (payment card industry) compliance fee, service fee, terminal lease fee, and wireless access fee). The threat of substitutes is expected to be medium in this category. There is less scope for new entrants to bring down the industry's dominant player and compete with the incumbents due to high capital and regulatory requirements, historic market dominance by huge enterprises, and major players who have a large customer base in the market. The major regions of North America and Europe such as the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Switzerland are the preferred business destinations to attract customers in this category. The use of card and card program maturity are high in these regions.
A well-planned and effective negotiation strategy will be beneficial to provide businesses with better credit card fees and rates. One of the important negotiation strategies is to negotiate card-processing fees. It is crucial to understand the key players involved in finalizing processing fee rates. The banks, the credit card network, and the payment processor negotiate with each other to offset risks and split costs. The business and the customer have little say in credit card processing fees. Customers and businesses have limited control over credit card processing costs. However, before signing a contract and implementing a processing system, firms might try to negotiate and reduce the processing prices. Firms should request rates and fees that are less expensive than the ones businesses already pay. In fact, businesses need to make continuous requests for cheaper rates from the processing firm, bank, and any cloud software that is being used for online sales.

Bill granger's ricotta pancakes recipe
Food and Wine: 4 servings. A reviewer said it too wet. Ingredients - HONEYCOMB BUTTER 1 cup honeycomb toffee pieces 1/2 cup unsalted butter (4 ounce), softened 1 Tbsp honey 1/4 tsp kosher salt Ingredients - HOTCAKES 1 2/3 cups whole-milk ricotta cheese (about 13 3/4 oz/ 152g) (such as Galbani) 1 cup whole milk 5 large eggs, separated 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (about 5 3/8 ounces / 390g) 1 1/4 tsp baking powder 1 tsp kosher salt Unsalted butter, for greasing griddle 2 large bananas, sliced 1 cup crushed honeycomb toffee Directions - Make the honeycomb butter Process toffee pieces in a food processor until very finely ground, about 30 seconds. Add butter, honey, and salt. Process until blended, about 30 seconds. Transfer butter mixture to a large sheet of plastic wrap, and roll into a 5-inch-long, about 1 1/2-inch-wide log. Chill at least 2 hours or up to 2 weeks. Directions - Make the hotcakes Whisk together ricotta, milk, and egg yolks in a medium bowl. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. No PLEASE hijack the post the post is an invitation! I WANT to talk about this. I want OTHERS to talk about this.
AND YEAH I HAVE THOUGHTS ABOUT THAT.
So like. Headcanon territory here but bear with me. I imagine combine soldiers are augmented based on their rank- so Grunts are less altered than Ordinals and so on. And ofc APF and Wallhammers are gonna have different augmentations than other ranks. HL2 era soldiers are probably more similar to eachother, Elites probably being more altered than regular soldiers.
But like as far as Who You Are goes, I imagine there isn't much of your original mind left. The Combine only let you keep what they deem important and Who You Were is not important.
Because of how our brains handle socializing and language, the lines where soldiers swear is actually probably the most "themselves" they get. Because expletives and negative behaviors are more persistent in the brain than positive behaviors, personality, and memory.
It's so interesting. It's so interesting... Grunts are probably the least altered of the bunch,, just by the way they talk and sometimes stumble through their words on radio transmissions. They don't have the robotic tone that the other soldiers do yet- or at least it's not as strong.
Where are rhe combine soldier enjoyers who aren't straight up nazis. I know y'all exist. Where are you. Do you wanna be friends

Buttermilk Biscuits
Everyone loves biscuits! And if you look up how to make them, basically every recipe is about the same. Mine isn't anything earth-shattering, but it does have one unusual step. Scroll on down to find out what it is! (The secret is folding more than you think you should—ed.)
Tumblr media
Neven's Buttermilk Biscuits
Servings: 6-9 biscuits Time: 15 minute mix + 15 minute fold + 30 minute bake
INGREDIENTS:
280 g all-purpose flour
80 g high-gluten flour (or more APF)
25 g sugar
10 g salt
4 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
165 g (1.5 sticks) unsalted butter, very cold
1 ¼ cup buttermilk, cold
DIRECTIONS:
First, the most important thing: keep everything as cold as you can. Place a large bowl in the fridge if you can; pop the whole butter sticks into the freezer as you prep.
Put a sheet of parchment paper on a half-sheet pan (18″ × 13″) as your final landing area for the cut biscuits. Pre-heat your oven to 400ºF with a rack in the top third of the oven.
In the cold bowl, whisk together your flour(s), sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Grab your whole sticks of cold butter and grate them (using the side with the large, pizza-cheese holes) into the bowl with the flour. Using a spatula, fold gently to combine, but without mushing up the butter shreds.
Pour in the buttermilk and fold again with that spatula. You're trying to kind of sort of get it uniform, but it'll still look like an awful mess. Your goal is just to integrate the big pool of dry flour from the bottom of the bowl into a shaggy mass in the middle.
Dust with flour a surface as big as you can afford: a workbench, a clean counter, a large cutting board. Gently flip your "dough" (lol) onto it and shake out any remaining flour from the bowl. It will look like an intimidating, dry mound; that's to be expected.
Grab a bench scraper or another thin, flat-sided tool. (A small, flexible cutting board works.) Now press gently from the sides and the top of your pile to form a sort of tight box. Don't squeeze it like Play-Doh™, but do try to pack it.
Using your scraper tool, go under the sides of the dough and make sure it's not stuck to the work surface. Still using the scraper to help you, flip one third from any side over the middle; then flip the remaining third to make a thicker shape with 2 folds in it, like a letter (you know how we all fold letters all the time these days?) Press down to get the whole thing to the original, starting height again. This is your basic biscuit-folding move; this is what builds those flaky layers, butter being laminated between strata of flour.
Here comes the unusual part of my recipe: where most write-ups will tell you to repeat this two or three times, I'm going to suggest that you do so a dozen times. That's right, get a solid 36 folds in there (each step creates 3 "folds"). The thing is, I don't "mix" my dough much in the previous steps, so this folding is how we'll get the whole thing together and develop lots of layers. If it sounds like a lot of work, don't worry; once you figure out the folding move (which you have to do either way), it only gets easier as you repeat it.
The dough should keep getting more flexible and easier to work with as the flour is integrated into it. If you start to feel some sticking, add a bit of flour to the sticky spots, but don't go wild with it. If the whole thing sticks to the work surface, use that scraper and move along and under the sides again to free it, and maybe add a bit of flour there.
Toward the last 3-4 folds, you can start using a rolling pin to ensure an even height to your dough. The end result should be a rectangle 1.5" thick and maybe 9" × 13" in size, fairly smooth and without any huge spots of butter or flour in it. Press in the sides to ensure a square-ish appearance to the thing, but don't expect perfection.
Once you're satisfied with the final folded dough, cut off those raggedy sides; they'd impede a clean vertical rise of your biscuits. Use your scraper tool—or a big knife—to cut about ½" off each side so the remaining rectangle is super sharp and even. Cut straight down with no sawing motion; just slam straight down confidently. I believe in you.
Using the same BAM! cutting motion, divide your dough rectangle into 6-9 biscuits; how many is up to you and your idea of what looks good and what's possible with the dough. Move the cut biscuits gently—separating from the work surface with that scraper tool if nedded—to the prepared sheet pan with the parchment paper on it. Keep a 1-2" space between your biscuits as they will expand some during the bake.
Discard the cut-off dough… I'm just kidding, come on. Take those end scraps and press them together from their sides to make a sort of rectangle with them. Letter-fold the rectangle again as best as you can, press down to make it neat, and cut however many biscuits it will produce (2? 3?) Cut off the sides again and press them into one wacky biscuit that'll rise unevenly but still be delicious. This should be your only un-square biscuit. Move all the new biscuits to the prepared sheet pan.
Grab another ¼ cup buttermilk and brush the tops of your biscuits with it; just enough to cover them, without getting goopy. Pop the whole thing into the oven and set a timer for 20 minutes. Rotate halfway through that time if you're around.
Check your biscuits' appearance: golden, with some dark areas along the top? Are the bottoms also developing a nice crust? You might not be done after 20 minutes, so feel free to set a timer for another 3-12 minutes, as needed.
When your biscuits look so good you want to build an ethical photo-sharing platform just to show them to the world, remove them from the oven. Feel free to brush them with butter. (Just running that remaining half a stick of butter over them like lip gloss will do.) Let them cool for at least 10 minutes before eating them.
Tumblr media
PRO TIPS:
Try to find full-fat buttermilk. Sometimes it's called "Bulgarian style" or another exotic name that means it's flavorful and good.
You can freeze unbaked biscuits. Once your biscuits are cut and on the sheet pan, place the whole sheet pan in the freezer for 2 hours, uncovered. When the biscuits are rock-hard, move them to a freezer bag, fold to get all the air out of the bag, close, and store in the freezer for, like, 3 months or so. Bake from frozen (DO NOT THAW) and add 5-15 minutes to the bake time, until they look delectable.
Do you think grating butter is weird? Are you weirded out by it? You can also cut it to a fine dice and then press it into flat discs in the flour using your hands. It's a free country.
Leftover biscuits should be stored in a closed container once they're fully cooled off. You can keep them around on the counter for 2-3 days, and reheat in a low oven, either whole or split.
I'm gonna hide a Mega Pro Tip here where no one will read it: buttermilk is incredibly delicious and you should just drink it out of a glass.
